 This fascinating 1881 letter is dated, postmarked and cancelled from Los Angeles, California in 1881.

The city at that point was actually just a small agricultural village along the banks of the then-existing

Los Angeles River.  The letter previously brought $28 at auction, we offer it here for $25.  The letter

regards the family business of a small candy and bakery store - a great insight into Los Angeles

business many moons ago. The envelope is whole, but split in half with some paper backing as

support.
