MINING EPHEMERA - Seven Troughs, Mazama Mining, Carson City Mint, US Mint Service

Mazama Hills Mining Company deposited one gold bullion bar with the US Mint Service (US Mint) in Carson City Nevada.  This bullion deposit receipt shows that fact, the fineness of the bar, worth in dollars and weight.  At the time gold was valued at 11.49$ per ounce.

The more important signature is actually by the depositor, Bill Lovelock for Helen Better Mines of Seven Troughs, Nevada.  Seven Troughs was wiped out in a sudden and disastrous flood. Not much of any written history or artifacts remains from that mining camp.  Pretty fascinating piece of US mint, mining, and financial history.

Two punch holes and a threefold keeps this receipt from grading fine, so we grade Very Good+.  Great piece of the Carson Mint history.
